Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using various analytical techniques and equipment.
- Inspect, test, and sample materials, components, and products at different stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Document and maintain accurate records of all quality control activities, test results, and non-conformances.
- Identify, investigate, and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) as necessary.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement effective solutions.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot QC instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Assist in the development and revision of quality control procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
- Conduct visual inspections of products for defects, adhering to established quality criteria.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Control role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in using various measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or relevant industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (DEC or Bachelor's degree) in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician).
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or other relevant quality management systems.
- Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., food, pharmaceutical, medical device).
