Hiring.zycto invites dedicated and compassionate Radiation Therapists to join our state-of-the-art Cancer Center in Bermondsey, Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate simulation, treatment planning, and delivery of radiation therapy, adhering to prescribed protocols and patient safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain advanced radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators, ensuring optimal functionality, calibration, and safety.
  • Conduct daily quality assurance checks on equipment, treatment plans, and patient charts to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Provide empathetic patient education, support, and monitoring throughout the entire course of treatment, addressing concerns and promoting well-being.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary oncology team (oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses) to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records, documenting all aspects of treatment delivery, patient responses, and any deviations from planned protocols.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO).
  • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist in a cancer center setting.
  • Proficiency in operating various radiation therapy treatment planning and delivery systems (e.g., Varian, Elekta).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach and strong empathy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications in specific radiation therapy techniques (e.g., IMRT, SBRT, Brachytherapy).
  • Experience with ARIA/Eclipse treatment planning systems or similar electronic medical record platforms.
  • Involvement in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives within an oncology department.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a valuable asset.
