Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Full-Time Radiographer to join our esteemed medical imaging team in the vibrant Merchant City of Glasgow. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and potentially ultrasound, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, explanation of procedures, and obtaining informed consent.
- Maintain high standards of image quality, performing quality control checks on equipment regularly.
- Operate and maintain complex imaging equipment safely and effectively, troubleshooting minor issues as required.
- Accurately position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and minimising radiation exposure.
- Process and review images, ensuring all relevant information is captured and transmitted to radiologists for interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with clinical and departmental policies.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Adhere strictly to radiation protection regulations, health and safety policies, and infection control procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to keep abreast of advancements in radiography techniques and technologies.
Required Skills
- BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Radiographer.
- Proven experience with a variety of imaging modalities (e.g., General Radiography, CT, MRI).
- Excellent knowledge of radiation protection regulations and patient safety protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems and PACS.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in a specialist imaging modality (e.g., MRI, CT, Mammography).
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques or specialist areas such as interventional radiography.
- Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to radiography.
- Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff/students.
- Familiarity with RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACs systems beyond basic operation.
