Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiographer to join our dedicated Imaging & Scan Operations team in Tooting, London. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures (e.g., X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound) according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and verify physician's orders for examinations.
- Position patients safely and effectively for optimal image acquisition, providing clear instructions and reassurance.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Apply appropriate radiation protection measures for patients, staff, and self, adhering to IR(ME)R regulations.
- Assess image quality, identifying and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain meticulous patient records, including documentation of procedures, dosages, and relevant clinical information.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, referring clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance programs, departmental meetings, and continuous professional development activities.
- Educate patients about their procedures, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Assist with scheduling, patient flow, and other administrative tasks as required to support efficient department operations.
Required Skills
- BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience as a Radiographer in a clinical setting, preferably within a busy acute hospital or diagnostic center.
- Proficiency in performing general radiography, including emergency and trauma imaging.
- Strong understanding of radiation protection principles and IR(ME)R regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in a specialist imaging modality (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound).
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques or specialist areas such as interventional radiography.
- Experience in training or mentoring junior staff/students.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR).
