Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging examinations including X-ray, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain complex imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort.
- Accurately position patients for imaging procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
- Assess images for diagnostic quality, identifying and reporting any anomalies to the referring clinician.
- Maintain comprehensive patient records and ensure data integrity within the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Participate in regular departmental audits, quality assurance programs, and continuous professional development activities.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, medical professionals, and support staff to ensure seamless patient pathways.
Required Skills
- HCPC registration (Health & Care Professions Council).
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a hospital or clinical imaging setting.
- Proficiency in operating various diagnostic imaging modalities (e.g., X-ray, CT, MRI).
- Excellent understanding of radiation protection and safety regulations.
- Strong patient care and communication skills, with an empathetic approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in a specialized imaging modality.
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques or interventional radiography.
- Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems and electronic health records.
