Job Description

We are urgently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team in Bennington Heights, Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and potentially MRI, in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout all imaging procedures.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain processes clearly, and obtain relevant medical history.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and image quality.
  • Accurately position patients for imaging studies to achieve diagnostic images.
  • Review images for technical quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain precise patient records and documentation within the electronic health record system.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols, including ALARA principles, and maintain proper shielding.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the radiology department and equipment.
  • Stay current with advancements in radiology technology and best practices through continuing education.

Required Skills

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Proficiency in operating X-ray and CT imaging equipment
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certification in CT or MRI (CAMRT credential)
  • Experience with PACS and RIS systems
  • Previous experience in an urgent care or emergency department setting
  • Bilingualism (English and French or other relevant languages)
