As a Rebar Installer Helper, you will be an integral part of our skilled teams, working shoulder-to-shoulder on diverse construction sites throughout Toronto. The work environment is predominantly outdoors, meaning you will experience all types of weather conditions, from sunny days to colder temperatures, requiring adaptability and resilience. Your daily responsibilities will involve actively assisting with the careful movement, precise cutting, careful bending, and secure tying of rebar, all performed meticulously according to engineered blueprints and project specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled Ironworkers in all aspects of rebar installation.
- Transport, load, unload, and distribute rebar at construction sites.
- Cut and bend rebar using hand and power tools as directed.
- Tie rebar together with wire, using pliers, according to layout plans and blueprints.
- Clean and prepare work areas, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Help maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Learn and adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced team members efficiently.
- Perform other labouring and elemental activities as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Eagerness to learn and take direction.
- Commitment to working safely and following all safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
