Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the A&R team in scouting new artists, reviewing demo submissions, and tracking industry trends and data.
  • Manage and organize the demo submission pipeline, providing initial screening, cataloging, and feedback summaries.
  • Coordinate scheduling for artist meetings, studio sessions, showcases, creative development workshops, and other key events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date artist databases, contact lists, and detailed project timelines.
  • Prepare comprehensive presentation materials and reports for A&R meetings, including market research, competitive analysis, and artist profiles.
  • Liaise effectively with artists, managers, producers, and internal departments (e.g., marketing, legal, production) to ensure smooth project execution and clear communication.
  • Support contract administration by preparing drafts, tracking key terms and deadlines, and ensuring timely execution of agreements.
  • Conduct thorough research on publishing, licensing, and sync opportunities to maximize revenue streams for signed artists.
  • Attend live shows, industry events, and conferences to network, identify emerging talent, and stay abreast of cultural shifts.
  • Help facilitate creative processes, including song selection, producer outreach, and coordination of mixing and mastering stages.

Required Skills

  • Proven, fervent passion for music across diverse genres and a demonstrated ability to identify talent.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a professional and articulate approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general office software.
  • Ability to work effectively and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and present findings clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (internship or entry-level) in a record label, music publishing company, or artist management.
  • Familiarity with music industry software, databases, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
  • Existing network within the independent music scene or local music community.
  • Basic understanding of music production, recording processes, and intellectual property rights.
