Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a passionate and highly organized Record Label A&R Coordinator to join our vibrant team in Haliimaile, Makawao. This pivotal role provides comprehensive support to our A&R department, playing a crucial part in the discovery, signing, and development of emerging musical talent. The ideal candidate will possess a keen ear for innovative sounds, an understanding of current music trends, and exceptional administrative abilities to keep our creative processes running smoothly.

As an A&R Coordinator, you will be the backbone of our artist discovery efforts, meticulously researching potential artists, tracking their online presence, and organizing demo submissions. You’ll work closely with A&R executives to manage their schedules, coordinate meetings with artists and their teams, and ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and filed accurately. This role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate needs, solve problems efficiently, and maintain discretion in handling sensitive artist information.

Beyond administrative tasks, you will contribute directly to the creative pipeline by providing initial assessments of potential talent, attending local showcases, and building relationships within the music community, both locally in Hawaii and across broader markets. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize all incoming demo submissions, ensuring proper logging and distribution to A&R executives.
  • Conduct thorough research on emerging artists, tracking their online presence, social media engagement, and live performance schedules.
  • Assist A&R executives with calendar management, scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, and expense reports.
  • Prepare and compile various reports, presentations, and documents related to artist scouting, project development, and competitive analysis.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for new artists and their representatives, maintaining professional communication.
  • Coordinate studio sessions, photo shoots, and video productions, ensuring all logistical requirements are met.
  • Support the negotiation and execution of artist agreements, liaising with legal and business affairs departments.
  • Attend live showcases, concerts, and industry events to scout talent and network with industry professionals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of music industry trends, new technologies, and competitor activities.
  • Assist with the management of A&R budgets and project timelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven passion for music and deep knowledge of various genres and emerging artists.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • Familiarity with digital music platforms, social media, and industry-standard analytics tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (internship or entry-level) within a record label, music publishing company, or artist management.
  • Basic understanding of music copyright and licensing.
  • Existing network within the local music scene in Hawaii.
