You will be exposed to various types of recyclable materials, from plastics and paper to metals and glass, learning to distinguish between them and ensuring they are directed to the correct streams. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and sort various recyclable materials (e.g., paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, metals) on a conveyor belt.
- Remove contaminants and non-recyclable items from the sorting line.
- Ensure sorted materials meet quality standards for further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Operate basic sorting equipment under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding material flow and issues.
- Assist with general cleanup tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
