Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties in all restaurant areas, including dining rooms, restrooms, kitchen, and storage areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors thoroughly and regularly throughout shifts.
  • Clean and sanitize all surfaces, including tables, chairs, counters, walls, and food preparation areas.
  • Wash dishes, glassware, and kitchen utensils using manual or automated dishwashing equipment.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste and recycling in designated areas according to restaurant protocols.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms meticulously, ensuring they are always stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces to maintain a polished appearance.
  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks as required, such as cleaning ovens, grills, refrigerators, and ventilation hoods.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate needs to management.
  • Report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
  • Strictly follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations set by the restaurant and local authorities.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to thoroughness in all cleaning tasks.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend, stoop, lift (up to 25 lbs), and move heavy objects for extended periods.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage (WHMIS training an asset).
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict safety procedures.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or commercial cleaning role.
