Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and exceptional guest experiences.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bussers.
- Manage shift schedules, breaks, and task assignments to optimize operational efficiency.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring resolution.
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and adherence to service standards.
- Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and order placement for FOH supplies.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings, provide ongoing training, and offer constructive feedback to staff.
- Process payments, manage cash handling procedures, and complete accurate shift close-outs.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and communication.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a supervisory role within a full-service restaurant.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation and outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in restaurant Point-of-Sale (POS) systems (e.g., Toast, Lightspeed).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain quickly upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or a diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management software and reservation systems.
- Basic understanding of P&L statements and cost control principles.
- Serving It Right (SIR) certification.
- Multilingual abilities, particularly in commonly spoken languages in Vancouver.
