Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain bilateral roaming agreements with international carriers, ensuring optimal terms and service quality.
- Coordinate the setup, testing, and launch of new roaming partners and innovative services (e.g., VoLTE, 5G Roaming).
- Monitor roaming network performance, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify potential issues or areas for optimization.
- Facilitate the resolution of roaming-related technical problems and service disruptions through collaboration with internal network teams and external partners.
- Ensure strict compliance with international roaming standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Prepare and analyze comprehensive roaming traffic reports, revenue figures, and operational metrics to inform strategic decisions.
- Act as a primary point of contact for roaming-related inquiries, support requests, and inter-carrier communications.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, marketing, and finance departments on various roaming initiatives and product developments.
- Stay updated on global industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes in the telecommunications roaming sector.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in telecommunications, specifically within roaming operations or network coordination.
- Solid understanding of GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G roaming architecture, protocols (e.g., GRX, IPX, SS7, Diameter), and associated signaling flows.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SQL is an asset.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with international partners.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with billing and settlement processes for roaming services (e.g., TAP/RAP files).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience with wholesale roaming platforms or hub providers.
- Knowledge of international regulatory frameworks and policy impacting roaming services.
- Fluency in a second language relevant to major international roaming markets.
- Project management certification or proven experience managing telecom projects.
