Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Roof Installer with specialized expertise in metal and wood roof assembly for various projects across Partick, Glasgow. As a Roof Installer focusing on metal and wood, you will be a key member of our roofing team, responsible for the precise installation, repair, and maintenance of diverse roofing systems. Your day-to-day will involve working with a variety of materials, including corrugated metal sheets, standing seam panels, timber rafters, sarking boards, and associated flashing and insulation. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices at height.

You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans, accurately measure and cut materials, and ensure all installations meet both structural integrity standards and aesthetic requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace various types of metal and wood roofing systems (e.g., standing seam, corrugated, timber framing, sarking).
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
- Measure, cut, shape, and fit roofing materials using hand and power tools.
- Inspect roof surfaces to identify repair needs, damage, and potential leaks.
- Apply sealants, coatings, and flashing to ensure watertight installations.
- Ensure all work adheres to building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of debris.
- Operate scaffolding, hoists, and other lifting equipment safely when required.
- Provide accurate estimates for materials and labour as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Roof Installer, specifically with metal and wood roofing.
- Proficiency in using a variety of roofing tools and equipment (e.g., shears, drills, nail guns, saws).
- Strong understanding of roofing construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing occupations.
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Working at Height certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with lead work or other specialist roofing materials.
