Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled roofers in all aspects of roofing projects (e.g., shingle, flat, metal roofs).
- Safely load, unload, and transport roofing materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Prepare job sites by setting up safety perimeters, ladders, scaffolding, and protecting surrounding areas.
- Perform tear-offs and efficient removal of existing roofing materials while minimizing debris.
- Clean and maintain job sites daily, ensuring a tidy, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Assist with the installation of various roofing components, underlayments, insulation, and shingles.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures diligently, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, ensuring safe and efficient usage.
- Support the team in achieving project timelines, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and work for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Strong work ethic, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
- Basic understanding and adherence to construction site safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively as an integral part of a cohesive team.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Comfortable with heights and working on sloped and elevated surfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in roofing or general construction.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Working at Heights certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Basic knowledge of different roofing materials, systems, and installation techniques.
