Your day will be active and hands-on, involving the safe handling of materials such as shingles, membranes, and insulation, preparation of work sites, and assisting with diverse roofing tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced roofers in all aspects of roofing projects, including removal, installation, and repair.
- Safely load, unload, and transport roofing materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Prepare work sites by setting up safety barriers, tarps, and clearing debris.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and the work area.
- Perform general site cleanup during and after projects to ensure a tidy and safe environment.
- Strictly adhere to all company and provincial safety procedures and guidelines.
- Provide support to team members with various tasks as needed to ensure project efficiency.
- Actively learn and apply new roofing techniques, materials, and best practices under supervision.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to attendance.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from experienced team members.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in general labour, construction, or outdoor manual work.
- Working at Heights certification (training can be provided if not currently held).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
