Job Description

Are you an experienced and dedicated Safety Manager with a robust background in industrial environments? Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Industrial Safety Manager to lead our comprehensive safety programs in our Calgary operations. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of our occupational health and safety (OHS) management systems to ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. You will be instrumental in cultivating a strong safety culture, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance across our industrial facilities. Your strategic input will directly contribute to our commitment to zero harm, ensuring that every project, process, and person operates within the highest safety parameters.

The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of relevant federal, provincial, and local OHS regulations, including Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation, and Code. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging safety training programs, conducting thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards, leading comprehensive incident investigations, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. This role demands a hands-on approach, requiring regular presence on the plant floor, engaging directly with employees at all levels, and fostering a collaborative atmosphere where safety is a shared responsibility, not just a policy. You will also manage safety documentation, prepare detailed reports for management, and act as a key liaison during regulatory inspections.

As our Safety Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters, working closely with operations, engineering, and human resources departments to integrate safety into every facet of our business. Your expertise will guide us in maintaining critical safety certifications, preparing diligently for external audits, and ensuring our emergency response plans are robust, regularly tested, and understood by all personnel. Beyond mere compliance, we are looking for a visionary leader who can inspire positive change, empower our workforce to take ownership of safety, and champion innovative safety solutions that enhance operational efficiency without compromising well-being. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned safety professional to make a significant and lasting impact within a growing and forward-thinking organization dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement in industrial safety.
