As a Satellite Technician – Installer, you will embark on daily assignments, traveling to various locations across the Greater Toronto Area. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and activate satellite dishes, receivers, and associated wiring for residential and commercial clients.
- Perform signal testing and quality assurance checks to ensure optimal system performance and connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with satellite systems, including signal loss, hardware malfunctions, and connectivity problems.
- Educate customers on the proper use of their new satellite systems and answer any questions regarding service and features.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including work orders, service reports, and inventory logs, accurately and promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company guidelines during installations and service calls.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including company vehicle and equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Satellite Technician, Field Service Technician, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of satellite communication technology and signal transmission.
- Proficiency with various hand and power tools for installation and repair.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on daily assignments.
- Strong physical ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Certifications in satellite installation (e.g., COMPTIA A+, CEDIA, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with various satellite providers and their specific equipment (e.g., Bell, Shaw Direct).
- Previous experience with fiber optics or networking equipment.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
