This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated tradesperson to contribute to the structural integrity and accessibility of various campus buildings and facilities, supporting both new construction and essential maintenance operations. As a Scaffolder, you will be instrumental in the safe and efficient erection, modification, and dismantling of complex scaffolding structures, providing crucial access for diverse trades working on everything from façade repairs to intricate interior renovations. Your meticulous work will directly support the ongoing development and upkeep of a vibrant academic environment, ensuring that all activities are conducted in strict adherence to provincial safety regulations, particularly WorkSafeBC standards, and the university’s rigorous internal safety protocols. We prioritize a proactive approach to hazard identification and mitigation, fostering a culture where every team member is empowered to uphold the highest safety benchmarks.

This pivotal role demands not only a meticulous approach to safety but also strong problem-solving abilities, a keen eye for detail, and an unwavering commitment to teamwork. You will be responsible for accurately interpreting technical drawings, calculating precise load capacities, and expertly selecting appropriate scaffolding materials and systems for each unique project challenge. The ability to work confidently and safely at heights, often in varying and sometimes challenging weather conditions, is paramount. We are looking for an individual who takes immense pride in their craftsmanship and profoundly understands the critical role high-quality scaffolding plays in protecting both workers and the wider public on campus. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and a diverse range of other trades professionals to ensure seamless project execution, maintaining impeccable safety records and contributing to a smooth operational flow. If you are passionate about your trade, dedicated to safety excellence, and eager to make a tangible and visible impact on a prominent educational institution, we strongly encourage you to apply and become a valued part of our project success at Simon Fraser University.
