Hiring.zycto is actively seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers in the Lake Mary and Sanford areas. No prior experience as a bus driver? No problem! We provide comprehensive, paid training to help you obtain your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus on designated routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during transport, managing student behavior effectively and respectfully.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.
- Adhere to established time schedules and routes, communicating any delays or changes as needed.
- Interact professionally and courteously with students, parents, school staff, and the public.
- Administer basic first aid if necessary and follow emergency procedures in accordance with training.
- Attend all required safety meetings and ongoing training sessions.
- Securely operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems for students with special needs, if applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of student ridership, mileage, and fuel consumption as required.
Required Skills
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and have a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, calm demeanor, and a genuine care for children.
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
- Ability to work split shifts (morning and afternoon routes).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Willingness to undergo and successfully complete CDL training with passenger and school bus endorsements.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children or in a public-facing role.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with the Lake Mary/Sanford area roads.
