Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking an accomplished and Certified Scrum Master to join our thriving product development team in Vancouver, British Columbia. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on coaching, mediating discussions, and creatively addressing challenges to ensure our sprints are successful and our long-term goals are met. Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
- Coach development teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices.
- Identify and remove impediments to team progress, proactively addressing issues and escalating when necessary.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, self-organization, and accountability within the Scrum teams.
- Protect the team from external distractions and ensure focus on sprint goals.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure product backlogs are refined, prioritized, and ready for development.
- Track and communicate team performance metrics, such as velocity and sprint burndown, to relevant stakeholders.
- Mediate conflicts and empower teams to resolve issues autonomously.
- Drive the adoption of Agile tools and techniques to enhance team efficiency and collaboration.
- Act as a servant leader, supporting the team in achieving its goals and fostering a positive working environment.
Required Skills
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent certification).
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile principles, practices, and values.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to identify and remove impediments and guide teams through complex challenges.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Scrum Master certification (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II).
- Experience scaling Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale).
- Background in software development or quality assurance.
- Experience with Kanban or other Lean methodologies.
- Experience working with distributed teams in a hybrid model.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous delivery pipelines.
