As a Seasonal Worker – Holiday, you will be on the front lines, helping to transform Claireville Conservation Area into a breathtaking holiday wonderland. Your role will involve a diverse range of tasks, from assisting with the intricate setup and maintenance of festive light displays and decorations to ensuring visitors have a joyful and seamless experience. You’ll be the friendly face offering assistance, providing directions, and helping to keep our beautiful grounds clean and accessible. This position requires a proactive attitude, a willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and a genuine desire to spread holiday cheer.
We are looking for individuals who are reliable, possess a strong work ethic, and are comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and light maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, installation, and dismantling of holiday light displays, decorations, and various seasonal attractions within Claireville Conservation Area.
- Perform light manual labour, including lifting and carrying materials up to 25 lbs, sweeping, shovelling snow, and maintaining clear pathways for visitor safety.
- Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, offering friendly greetings, directions, event information, and general assistance to ensure a positive experience.
- Support various holiday event activities, which may include ticket checking, crowd management, guiding visitors, and ensuring event areas are well-maintained.
- Conduct routine site checks to ensure all holiday elements are functioning correctly and promptly report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Contribute to general site upkeep, including litter collection, waste management, and ensuring public facilities remain clean and presentable.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure and safe environment for both staff and visitors.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operational flow and a cohesive festive atmosphere.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays, as required by seasonal event schedules.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, standing/walking for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable, and customer-focused demeanor.
- Proven reliability and punctuality, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to team success.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and effectively as a collaborative team member.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and task completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a seasonal, outdoor, event, or customer service role.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with the Claireville Conservation Area or similar park/recreational environments.
