Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, ensuring the safety and security of premises.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, and promptly report any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Control access to buildings, verifying identification and ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches, following established protocols.
- Document observations, activities, and incidents accurately in detailed reports.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and staff with inquiries and directions.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when required.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter crime and unauthorized activities.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and participate in ongoing training sessions.
Required Skills
- Ability to obtain or possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License (or willingness to obtain one prior to employment).
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and monitoring systems.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift as required by the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
- Previous experience in customer service or a public-facing role.
- Basic understanding of security procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
