Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of mall common areas, retail units, office spaces, and external perimeters, ensuring the safety and security of all occupants and property.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly to any suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Act as a first responder to incidents, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and security breaches, implementing emergency procedures as required.
- Enforce site rules and regulations, addressing violations professionally and courteously.
- Provide clear and concise written reports on all incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Control access points, verifying credentials for entry to restricted areas.
- Engage positively with the public, offering assistance, directions, and customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.
- Assist in the de-escalation of conflicts and disruptive behaviour, ensuring minimal impact on operations and public safety.
- Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement, emergency services, and site management.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding License.
- Demonstrable experience in a security role, preferably within a retail, commercial, or public-facing environment.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective under pressure.
- Proficiency in producing accurate and detailed incident reports.
- Basic IT literacy for operating security systems and reporting software.
- Physical fitness to perform regular patrols and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Previous experience with CCTV monitoring and alarm response systems.
- Conflict management and de-escalation training.
- Experience working in a large mall or multi-tenant office complex.
- A full UK driving license.
