As a Security Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of our operations, leading a team of security professionals, overseeing daily activities, and ensuring strict adherence to protocols and client specifications. Your days will be diverse, encompassing everything from direct supervision of security personnel, conducting regular and irregular patrols, to managing incident responses and comprehensive reporting using modern security software. You will play a pivotal role in training and mentoring your team, ensuring they are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties with professionalism and efficiency. This includes staying updated on the latest security technologies and best practices, and implementing continuous improvement strategies for the security team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of security guards, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement daily security operational plans and assign duties to security personnel.
- Conduct regular and irregular patrols of assigned premises to detect and deter security breaches.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations, coordinating with relevant authorities as needed.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and implement preventative measures to enhance security.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, access control systems, and other security technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal security regulations and standards.
- Act as a primary liaison with clients regarding security matters, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in security, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C certification.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in security software, surveillance systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
- In-depth knowledge of security protocols, emergency procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Clean criminal record check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced access control and CCTV systems.
- Crisis prevention and intervention training.
- Certification in ASIS CPP or PSP.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
