Hiring.zycto is seeking dedicated Full-Time Security Support Staff to join our team in North Shore, Kamloops. In this critical role, you will be the front line of defense, ensuring the safety and security of our premises, assets, and personnel. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter unauthorized activities and maintain a visible security presence.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems, promptly reporting any suspicious activity or breaches.
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and calls for assistance, following established protocols and escalating as necessary.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all individuals on the premises.
  • Control access to facilities, verifying credentials, logging visitors, and ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, documenting observations, actions taken, and witness statements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, assisting visitors, employees, and clients with inquiries and directions while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • De-escalate potentially volatile situations through calm communication and conflict resolution techniques, prioritizing safety.
  • Collaborate closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and internal management during critical incidents.
  • Perform routine checks of safety equipment, fire exits, and emergency systems to ensure operational readiness.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security knowledge and skills.

Required Skills

  • Valid BC Security Worker License
  • Excellent observational and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to write clear and concise incident reports
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Basic computer proficiency for report writing and system monitoring
  • Physical fitness to conduct patrols and stand for extended periods
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain quickly)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a security role (e.g., security guard, loss prevention, law enforcement)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Familiarity with security software and surveillance systems
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation training
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
