Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant with a CPA designation to join our thriving finance team in Lawrence Park, Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full cycle month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and supporting schedules in accordance with IFRS/ASPE.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability reviews, providing insights to management.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Oversee general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial planning.
- Coordinate and support external audits by preparing audit working papers and liaising with auditors.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities within the finance department.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.
Required Skills
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Proven expertise in financial statement preparation and general ledger management.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS or ASPE.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the manufacturing or technology industry.
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting tools.
- Prior experience with process automation initiatives in finance.
- Project management experience within a finance context.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
