Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Asset Manager to join our dynamic Real Estate team in Toronto. This pivotal role involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of institutional-grade real estate assets, primarily focusing on maximizing property value, optimizing operational performance, and executing comprehensive asset strategies. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategic business plans for each asset, driving financial performance, managing risk, and identifying growth opportunities across our portfolio.

As a Senior Asset Manager, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of asset management, from acquisition support and underwriting to disposition strategies. Your expertise will guide decision-making on capital expenditures, leasing strategies, property management oversight, and market positioning. This position requires a proactive leader with a deep understanding of real estate market dynamics, financial modeling, and strong negotiation skills. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including acquisitions, finance, development, and legal, as well as external partners, brokers, and property managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategic business plans for assigned real estate assets to maximize value and achieve investment objectives.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting to senior management and investors.
  • Lead capital expenditure planning and execution, ensuring projects align with asset strategies and deliver strong returns.
  • Manage and optimize leasing strategies, working closely with brokers and property management teams to maintain high occupancy and competitive rental rates.
  • Conduct thorough market research and financial analysis to identify new investment opportunities, assess risks, and inform asset strategies.
  • Oversee property management functions, ensuring operational efficiency, tenant satisfaction, and adherence to company standards.
  • Negotiate and execute complex agreements, including leases, management contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Evaluate potential acquisitions and dispositions, providing detailed due diligence support and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders, outlining asset performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting the real estate sector.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in real estate asset management, investment, or finance.
  • Proven track record of managing a significant commercial real estate portfolio.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills (Excel proficiency is a must).
  • Excellent understanding of real estate market dynamics, investment principles, and financial metrics.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in Real Estate, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CFA, ARGUS certification, or other relevant professional designations.
  • Experience with various asset classes (e.g., office, retail, industrial, multi-family).
  • Familiarity with the Toronto real estate market and its key players.
