Job Description
Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for an exceptionally talented and driven Senior Hardware Engineer with a specialization in Electronics to join our innovative team in Toronto. This is a pivotal role where you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying advanced electronic systems that form the core of our next-generation products. As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will lead critical projects from conceptualization through to manufacturing, ensuring designs meet rigorous performance, reliability, and cost targets. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of hardware development, including detailed circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, prototyping, validation, and production support.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing of complex electronic hardware systems from concept to production.
- Perform detailed analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout review.
- Conduct comprehensive signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis for high-speed designs.
- Oversee prototype assembly, bring-up, debug, and validation activities.
- Develop and execute rigorous test plans to ensure hardware meets functional, performance, and reliability specifications.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product integration and manufacturability.
- Participate in component selection, qualification, and obsolescence management.
- Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, regulatory compliance (e.g., EMC/EMI, safety), and company guidelines.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technology roadmapping for future products.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware design and development, specifically with electronics.
- Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, including microcontrollers, FPGAs, memory interfaces, and power management.
- Expertise with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD, KiCad) for schematic capture and layout.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) principles.
- Demonstrated experience with hardware debugging, root cause analysis, and test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).
- Familiarity with embedded systems development and debugging tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with high-speed serial communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) principles.
- Experience with firmware development in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Prior experience in industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or industrial automation.
