Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative and growing team in Trinity-Bellwoods, Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle design and development of complex mechanical systems, components, and products, from conceptualization to production.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including FEA, CFD, and kinematic analysis, to validate designs and optimize performance.
- Generate comprehensive engineering documentation, including 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, specifications, and test plans.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software development, manufacturing, and project management.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to improve product performance and reduce costs.
- Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation activities, ensuring designs meet all functional, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues during development and production, implementing effective corrective actions.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery of engineering deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers and team members.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, PTC Creo, Siemens NX).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Demonstrated experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding, additive manufacturing).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related advanced degree.
- P.Eng. license in Ontario or eligibility for registration.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations.
