Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Media Planner to join our vibrant team in Toronto. This pivotal role involves leading the development and execution of integrated media strategies that drive measurable results for our diverse portfolio of clients. You will be instrumental in translating client objectives into innovative media plans across various channels, including digital (programmatic, social, search), traditional (TV, radio, print), and emerging media platforms. We’re looking for an individual with a keen analytical mind, a deep understanding of the media landscape, and a proven track record of delivering successful campaigns. You will be expected to leverage market research, consumer insights, and performance data to inform your planning, optimizing campaigns for maximum reach and impact. Beyond strategy, this role requires strong communication and presentation skills, as you will regularly interface with clients, present media plans, and articulate campaign rationale and results. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, present, and execute comprehensive media strategies and plans aligned with client marketing objectives and budgets.
- Conduct in-depth market research, audience analysis, and competitive landscape assessments to inform strategic recommendations.
- Manage and optimize media budgets across various channels, ensuring efficient allocation and maximum ROI.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (account management, creative, analytics) to ensure seamless campaign integration.
- Analyze campaign performance data, provide actionable insights, and recommend optimizations to improve results.
- Stay abreast of the latest media trends, technologies, and industry best practices to identify new opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors, negotiating favorable rates and placements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior media team members, fostering their professional growth.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of progressive experience in media planning and buying within an agency or in-house marketing department.
- Demonstrated expertise in planning across digital (programmatic, paid social, SEM), traditional, and OOH media channels.
- Proficiency in media planning software and tools (e.g., Comscore, Nielsen, Google Analytics, ad servers).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to create compelling presentations.
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
