Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer specializing in Cisco technologies to join our rapidly expanding team in Toronto. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of enterprise-level network architecture, implementation, and operational support. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and maintaining high-performance, secure, and resilient network solutions that power our clients’ critical operations. You will leverage your extensive expertise with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking platforms to optimize performance, enhance security posture, and ensure maximum uptime. This position demands a proactive problem-solver with a strong analytical mindset, capable of diagnosing complex network issues and implementing effective resolutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage complex Cisco-based network infrastructures, including routing, switching, and security solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers (e.g., ISR, ASR), switches (e.g., Catalyst, Nexus), and firewalls (e.g., ASA, Firepower).
  • Conduct network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  • Lead fault isolation and resolution efforts for critical network incidents, providing expert-level support.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Mentor junior network engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering skill development within the team.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical network issues.

Required Skills

  • CCNP or CCIE certification (Routing & Switching, Enterprise Infrastructure, or Security).
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Cisco enterprise networks.
  • Expertise in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and other advanced routing protocols.
  • Profound understanding of VLANs, VPNs (IPsec, SSL), MPLS, and QoS.
  • Experience with Cisco security products: ASA, Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), ISE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management best practices.
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Meraki).
