Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished and highly detail-oriented Senior Payroll Manager to oversee our global payroll operations. As a pivotal member of our finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for employees across multiple international jurisdictions. This role requires a strong leader with an in-depth understanding of global payroll regulations, systems, and best practices. You will drive process improvements, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate closely with HR, finance, and legal teams to ensure payroll integrity and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute end-to-end global payroll processing for all employees across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, national, and international payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists, fostering their professional development and ensuring high performance.
  • Oversee payroll system configurations, integrations, and upgrades, working closely with IT and HRIS teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and minimize risk.
  • Manage relationships with third-party payroll vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all payroll-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to employees and management.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports for senior management, providing insights into trends, costs, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal departments on compensation changes, benefits deductions, and legislative updates.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify and rectify discrepancies, ensuring data integrity.
  • Stay abreast of changes in global payroll legislation and adapt processes accordingly to maintain compliance.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in global payroll management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing payroll for multiple international jurisdictions.
  • In-depth knowledge of global payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with major payroll software platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent international certification (e.g., FPC, CIPP).
  • Experience with HRIS implementations and integrations related to payroll.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation specifically, in addition to global experience.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to our global operations.
