Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all production activities during the assigned shift, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to schedules.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production staff, including performance management, training, and conflict resolution.
- Monitor production output, quality control, and efficiency metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and process deviations, coordinating with maintenance and other departments as needed.
- Manage raw material and finished product inventory on the shift, minimizing waste and optimizing resource utilization.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production reports, shift logs, and documentation.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Collaborate with other Shift Managers and departmental leaders to ensure seamless transitions between shifts and consistent operational standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong team-building and motivational skills.
- Solid understanding of production processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and team interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding production environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to the specific industry (e.g., food safety, pharmaceutical GMP, etc.).
- Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements that resulted in measurable gains.
