Hiring.zycto is seeking a diligent and dedicated Shipping Associate for our critical Night Shift operations in Birch Cliff, Toronto. This full-time role is integral to our logistical success, ensuring that all outgoing products are accurately processed, packed, and dispatched on schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment according to established procedures and deadlines.
- Loading and unloading trucks and other vehicles manually and/or with appropriate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices, manifests, or other records, noting and reporting any discrepancies.
- Organizing and maintaining the warehouse, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with all company safety standards and protocols.
- Operating basic warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including but not limited to pallet jacks and manual order pickers.
- Performing inventory counts and participating in cycle counts as required to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or product discrepancies to supervision promptly.
- Collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily shipping targets and ensure smooth night shift operations.
- Adhering to all company policies, safety regulations, and quality control standards at all times.
- Assisting with other warehouse duties as assigned, including receiving, sorting, cross-docking, and returns processing.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking, packing, and verification processes.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels, count items, and accurately complete forms and documentation.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic, particularly for consistent night shift attendance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also effectively as part of a cohesive team.
- Good communication skills to interact clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Demonstrated understanding and adherence to safety protocols in a busy warehouse setting.
- Physical stamina for prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the night shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, or general logistics role.
- Valid forklift certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck) is considered a significant asset.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software.
- Familiarity with various shipping documents such as Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and customs forms.
