As a Siding Installer Helper, you will be an integral part of our crew, assisting lead installers with all phases of residential and commercial siding projects. You’ll gain invaluable practical experience in site preparation, material handling, precise measurement and cutting, and the safe application of various siding materials such as vinyl, fiber cement, and aluminum. This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a cohesive team in diverse weather conditions. You’ll be working at various job sites across the Greater Toronto Area, primarily based out of our Toronto hub, contributing directly to enhancing the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of homes and buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead siding installers with the preparation and installation of various siding materials (vinyl, fiber cement, wood, aluminum).
  • Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and protective coverings; ensure a clean and organized work area.
  • Safely load, unload, and transport siding materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Perform basic measurements, cuts, and trims of siding panels and accessories under supervision.
  • Assist with the removal of existing siding materials and disposal of debris.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order, cleaning and storing them properly after use.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide general labor support to the team as needed, contributing to efficient project completion.
  • Learn and apply best practices for siding installation, waterproofing, and flashing techniques.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions diligently.
  • Ability to work comfortably at heights and in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding and safe use of common hand tools (tape measure, utility knife, hammer).
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a construction, general labor, or outdoor manual work role.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
