Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Foreman with a strong focus on Labour Management and Safety to join our growing team in Otley, Leeds. This critical role involves overseeing daily site operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will be the linchpin on-site, directly responsible for managing construction labour, optimizing workflow, and rigorously enforcing all health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily on-site operations, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity among the construction team.
  • Allocate tasks and direct construction labour, ensuring optimal resource utilization and strict adherence to project timelines.
  • Implement and rigorously enforce all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and lead daily toolbox talks, promptly addressing any potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor work progress against schedules, identify potential delays or issues, and implement effective corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met for all construction activities, materials, and finishes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive site records, including daily logs, incident reports, progress updates, and attendance records.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior staff and operatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Manage site logistics, including efficient material deliveries, precise equipment movement, and proper waste management according to environmental guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar leadership role in construction (minimum 5 years).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and UK health and safety regulations (including CDM regulations).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, direct, and manage a diverse workforce effectively.
  • Strong understanding and unwavering commitment to health and safety best practices on a construction site.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in basic site administration and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisive, informed judgments under pressure.
  • Valid full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Site Supervision/Management or an equivalent construction-related qualification.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • First Aid at Work qualification (valid and current).
  • CSCS Card (Gold or Black).
  • Experience with various construction project types (e.g., residential, commercial, civil engineering).
