Job Description
We are urgently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Manager to lead our upcoming projects in the Lisburn, Belfast area. This is a critical, immediate-start position for a professional ready to hit the ground running and make a significant impact from day one. As Site Manager, you will be the linchpin of our on-site operations, responsible for the successful delivery of projects safely, on time, and within budget. You will oversee all aspects of site management, from planning and coordination to execution and handover, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
Your day-to-day will involve hands-on leadership, managing site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing site specific construction programmes, monitoring progress, and proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks. Effective communication is paramount in this role; you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all daily site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Develop, monitor, and update project programmes, ensuring key milestones are met and progress is accurately reported.
- Supervise and motivate site personnel, including direct labour and subcontractors, fostering a productive work environment.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure effective communication and problem resolution.
- Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout all stages of construction, conducting regular quality checks.
- Manage site logistics, materials, and equipment, optimising resource allocation.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and ensure all site personnel are aware of project requirements and safety procedures.
- Manage site documentation, including permits, reports, and daily logs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Site Manager or similar senior supervisory role in construction.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in construction planning, scheduling, and project management techniques.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices (e.g., CDM Regulations).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making under pressure.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience with construction management software (e.g., Asta Powerproject, MS Project).
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) at Manager level.
