Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Supervisor to join our dedicated team on Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver. This pivotal full-time role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact on-site, coordinating activities, managing personnel, and upholding rigorous safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and coordinate all on-site construction and operational activities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and quality control standards, particularly WorkSafeBC guidelines.
  • Manage and optimize daily work schedules, effectively allocate tasks, and monitor the performance of all site personnel.
  • Conduct regular and thorough site inspections to proactively identify and resolve potential issues, hazards, or deviations from plans.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and proposed solutions clearly and concisely to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee material procurement, equipment usage, and general resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate site personnel, fostering a positive and productive team environment to achieve project goals.
  • Implement and enforce environmental protection measures and sustainability practices specific to the natural Grouse Mountain area.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to on-site emergencies, unforeseen challenges, and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress updates.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) as a Site Supervisor or a similar leadership role in construction or facilities management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, with a strong emphasis on WorkSafeBC standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and detailed project specifications.
  • Familiarity with standard project management software and digital communication tools.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the Grouse Mountain site.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hiring).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working in mountainous, challenging outdoor, or resort-style environments.
  • Trade certification (e.g., Red Seal) in a relevant construction or technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with environmental protection standards and permits specific to natural park areas.
  • Experience with project budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization.
