Job Description
Are you an experienced skier or snowboarder with a passion for safety and a commitment to helping others? Hiring.zycto is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our professional Ski Patrol team for the upcoming winter season. This is a unique opportunity to combine your love for winter sports with vital life-saving responsibilities, ensuring the well-being of our guests across varied terrain.
As a Seasonal Ski Patrol member, you will be an integral part of our mountain operations, acting as a first responder to accidents and injuries, providing emergency medical care, and facilitating safe transport of injured individuals. Your daily duties will involve patrolling designated trails, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, setting up and maintaining safety closures, and enforcing mountain policies to ensure a secure environment for all visitors. This role requires exceptional judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Our team operates in dynamic and sometimes challenging weather conditions, demanding excellent physical fitness, advanced skiing or snowboarding ability, and a resilient attitude. You will receive ongoing training and support, working alongside seasoned professionals dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety and guest service. Beyond the critical safety aspects, you’ll also serve as an ambassador for our resort, interacting positively with guests, providing information, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and effectively to all accidents and medical emergencies on the mountain.
- Provide advanced first aid and emergency medical care to injured guests and staff.
- Safely transport injured individuals from the mountain using toboggans and other rescue equipment.
- Conduct daily trail checks, identify hazards, and implement safety measures such as signage, ropes, and closures.
- Enforce resort policies and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
- Assist with avalanche control measures and search and rescue operations as required.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and medical treatments.
- Participate in ongoing training, drills, and evaluations to maintain proficiency in rescue techniques and medical protocols.
- Interact professionally and courteously with guests, providing information and assistance.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures for ski lifts and trails.
Required Skills
- Advanced skiing or snowboarding proficiency in varying terrain and weather conditions.
- Current certification in Advanced First Aid (e.g., Wilderness First Responder, Occupational First Aid Level 3, or equivalent).
- Strong physical fitness and stamina for demanding outdoor work.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of mountain safety protocols and risk management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Ski Patroller or in a similar emergency response role.
- CPR and AED certification.
- Rope rescue or avalanche safety training (e.g., AST 1 or 2).
- Experience with snowmobile operation.
- Knowledge of local terrain and weather patterns.
