Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and risk factors related to mental health.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide individual and group counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention services using evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate access to appropriate community resources, support services, and advocacy on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
- Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Engage in community outreach and mental health promotion activities as required.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice as outlined by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Required Skills
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited university.
- Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of direct clinical experience in a mental health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and formulate effective treatment plans.
- Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy).
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of mental health resources and services available in the Toronto area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultural competencies.
- Bilingualism (English and other common languages in Toronto).
- Experience in program development or evaluation.
