Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker specializing in Mental Health to join our dynamic team in Mimico, Toronto. As a Mental Health Social Worker, you will be instrumental in conducting psychosocial assessments, developing personalized care plans, and facilitating access to essential community resources. Working within a multidisciplinary framework, you will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and risk factors related to mental health.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention services using evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate access to appropriate community resources, support services, and advocacy on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
  • Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Engage in community outreach and mental health promotion activities as required.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice as outlined by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

Required Skills

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited university.
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and formulate effective treatment plans.
  • Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy).
  • Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of mental health resources and services available in the Toronto area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultural competencies.
  • Bilingualism (English and other common languages in Toronto).
  • Experience in program development or evaluation.
  • Certification in specific therapeutic techniques (e.g., trauma-informed care).
