Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Solicitor Assistant to join our thriving legal team in Larne. This pivotal full-time role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive support across two critical areas of law: Corporate and Family. You will play an essential part in the efficient functioning of our practice, working closely with Solicitors to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong administrative background, exceptional organisational skills, and a genuine interest in contributing to both the commercial success and compassionate client care aspects of our firm.

In the Corporate Law sphere, your responsibilities will involve assisting with company formations, contract drafting, due diligence processes, and general corporate governance documentation. You will help prepare legal documents, manage client files, conduct preliminary research, and coordinate meetings, ensuring that all corporate transactions are handled with precision and in a timely manner. Your ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information will be paramount.

Concurrently, in the Family Law department, you will provide crucial support on matters ranging from divorce and separation to child arrangements and financial settlements. This will include preparing court bundles, liaising with clients with empathy and discretion, drafting correspondence, and managing diaries. The role demands an individual who can balance the rigorous demands of corporate legal work with the sensitive and often emotional nature of family law cases, demonstrating both professional acumen and a compassionate approach. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, adaptable, and committed to upholding the highest standards of legal practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and court forms for both corporate and family law matters.
  • Manage and organise client files, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained and easily accessible.
  • Conduct preliminary legal research and gather relevant information to support ongoing cases.
  • Assist Solicitors in preparing for client meetings, court hearings, and corporate transactions.
  • Liaise directly with clients, barristers, court staff, and other external parties in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date diary management for Solicitors, scheduling appointments and managing deadlines.
  • Process legal aid applications, billing, and general administrative tasks.
  • Undertake general office administration, including photocopying, scanning, and digital filing.
  • Ensure strict adherence to data protection regulations and client confidentiality at all times.
  • Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the legal department and firm.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 12 months of experience in a legal support or administrative role within a law firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A legal qualification (e.g., Paralegal Certificate, Law Degree, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience supporting solicitors in corporate and/or family law.
  • Familiarity with case management software.
  • Understanding of Northern Irish legal procedures and regulations.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary package.
  • Generous holiday allowance.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Employee wellness programmes.
  • Modern office facilities in a convenient location.
