Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Entry Level Sonographer to join our dedicated medical imaging team in Clifton, Louisville. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direct supervision of a licensed Sonographer or Radiologist, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functionality, cleanliness, and readiness for each procedure.
  • Acquire, analyze, and process diagnostic images, ensuring optimal image quality for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Document patient information, scan findings, and maintain accurate records in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and patient privacy (HIPAA) regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training, educational opportunities, and mentorship programs to enhance sonographic skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Eligibility for ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification.
  • Completion of clinical externship or internship in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with various types of ultrasound equipment and imaging techniques.
  • Prior experience in a customer service-oriented role.
