Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Entry Level Sonographer to join our dedicated medical imaging team in Clifton, Louisville. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direct supervision of a licensed Sonographer or Radiologist, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functionality, cleanliness, and readiness for each procedure.
- Acquire, analyze, and process diagnostic images, ensuring optimal image quality for interpretation by radiologists.
- Document patient information, scan findings, and maintain accurate records in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and patient privacy (HIPAA) regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training, educational opportunities, and mentorship programs to enhance sonographic skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligibility for ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification.
- Completion of clinical externship or internship in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Familiarity with various types of ultrasound equipment and imaging techniques.
- Prior experience in a customer service-oriented role.
