Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Full-Time Sonographer to join our dynamic medical imaging team serving the Brockton Point, Vancouver area. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, obstetrical, gynecological, and small parts examinations.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment with technical proficiency, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the examination process, providing clear explanations and addressing concerns.
  • Analyze and interpret ultrasound images, providing preliminary findings to radiologists for final diagnosis.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and comprehensive patient records, adhering strictly to institutional and privacy protocols.
  • Adhere to all infection control guidelines and safety standards in the imaging environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, referring physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, equipment calibration, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Manage patient flow and scheduling efficiently to optimize clinic operations.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with advancements in sonography techniques and technology.

Required Skills

  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography diploma or degree from an accredited program.
  • Current registration and good standing with ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or Sonography Canada (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Sonographer.
  • Proven proficiency in performing a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Superior hand-eye coordination, spatial reasoning, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialization or advanced certification in a specific area of sonography (e.g., Vascular Technology, Cardiac Sonography).
  • Experience with advanced ultrasound technologies, such as 3D/4D imaging or elastography.
  • Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
  • Previous experience working in a large hospital setting or an academic medical center.
  • Additional language proficiency, particularly in common languages spoken in Vancouver's diverse community.
