Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive setup and teardown of audio equipment for various live events.
- Operate and mix Front of House (FOH) and monitor systems with precision during performances.
- Conduct thorough sound checks and fine-tune audio levels to achieve optimal sound quality.
- Diagnose and resolve technical audio issues promptly and efficiently during live events.
- Select, place, and manage microphones, ensuring optimal capture for vocals and instruments.
- Collaborate effectively with performers, event organizers, and other technical crew members.
- Perform routine maintenance and inventory checks on audio equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations for event production.
- Assist with power distribution and cabling management for audio systems.
- Contribute to pre-production planning and post-event reporting as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a live sound technician.
- Proficiency with both digital and analog mixing consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Midas, Behringer).
- Strong understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, and gain structure.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot audio problems quickly under pressure.
- Expertise in microphone selection, placement, and wireless system management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Experience with L-Acoustics, d&b audiotechnik, or similar line array systems.
- Knowledge of networked audio protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB).
- Familiarity with lighting or video systems in a live event context.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
