Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and food preparation.
  • Oversee and manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Lead, train, and mentor culinary team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Contribute to menu development, recipe creation, and daily specials.
  • Ensure consistent high quality and presentation of all food items.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
  • Conduct daily line checks and ensure all stations are properly set up and maintained.
  • Monitor food costs and labor scheduling to optimize efficiency and profitability.
  • Resolve kitchen-related issues efficiently and professionally.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with upscale or fine dining establishments.

  • First Aid and CPR certification.
