Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Contract Speech Pathologist to join our network of dedicated healthcare professionals in the vibrant Woburn community of Toronto. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services to a diverse caseload, working with individuals across various age groups and clinical presentations. As a Contract Speech Pathologist, you will be instrumental in enhancing communication, cognitive-linguistic functions, and swallowing abilities, directly impacting the quality of life for your clients. Your expertise will be valued in assessing, diagnosing, and developing tailored treatment plans for a range of conditions, including but not limited to, articulation disorders, language delays, voice disorders, fluency issues, dysphagia, and neurological impairments.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to client needs and goals.
- Provide direct therapeutic intervention, utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities.
- Educate clients and their families on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and home exercise programs.
- Monitor client progress, modify treatment plans as necessary, and document all clinical activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and educators.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical standards set by the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain current knowledge of best practices in speech-language pathology.
Required Skills
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a diverse range of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to build rapport with clients and families.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized training or certification in specific areas such as dysphagia management, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), or voice therapy.
- Bilingualism (e.g., French, Mandarin, Punjabi) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience working in a variety of clinical settings (e.g., community health, schools, private practice, acute care).
- Membership in Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) or other relevant professional associations.
