Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and compassionate Speech Therapist passionate about empowering individuals through effective communication? Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist – Language Support to join our specialist team in Burley, Leeds. This pivotal role involves delivering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services to children and adults experiencing a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), and formulate evidence-based intervention plans for individuals across various age groups.
  • Deliver a range of direct and indirect therapeutic interventions, tailored to individual needs and developmental stages.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, families, carers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and consistent support.
  • Provide expert advice, training, and resources to support communication development in various settings (e.g., home, school, community).
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely client records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying abreast of current research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
  • Manage an independent caseload, including prioritisation, scheduling, and outcome monitoring.

Required Skills

  • BSc or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent qualification)
  • Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Speech and Language Therapist, specifically in language support.
  • Demonstrable experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a range of speech, language, and communication needs in both children and adults.
  • Strong understanding of child development and typical language acquisition.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within an educational or community health setting.
  • Additional training or specialisation in specific areas of language disorders (e.g., DLD, ASD communication).
  • Experience in delivering parent/carer training and group interventions.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
