Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated individual with a knack for inspiring young minds through sports? Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an enthusiastic Youth Sports Coach to join our vibrant team in Erin Mills, Mississauga. This full-time role offers an incredible opportunity to shape the next generation of athletes, instilling in them not only fundamental sports skills but also crucial life lessons such as teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and perseverance.

As a Youth Sports Coach, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading engaging practice sessions across various sports, catering to different age groups and skill levels. Your primary goal will be to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment where every participant feels valued, encouraged, and challenged to grow. You will communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and colleagues, providing constructive feedback and celebrating successes. This role demands energy, creativity, and a genuine commitment to youth development, both on and off the field. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate sports training sessions.
  • Teach fundamental sports techniques, rules, and strategies in a clear and effective manner.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all participants.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and games.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding program updates, athlete progress, and any concerns.
  • Manage and maintain sports equipment, ensuring it is used safely and stored properly.
  • Organize and supervise scrimmages, games, and internal competitions.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting sportsmanship, respect, and fair play.
  • Monitor athlete attendance and track individual progress.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and program staff to enhance overall program quality.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience coaching youth sports (e.g., soccer, basketball, track, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate coaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes of diverse backgrounds.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Education, or a related field.
  • Relevant coaching certifications from recognized sports governing bodies (e.g., NCCP).
  • Experience working with children and youth with special needs.
  • Proficiency in multiple sports disciplines.
