Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our thriving operations team in Milton Keynes. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our inventory, ensuring accurate recording, efficient storage, and timely dispatch of products. As a Stock Controller, you will be at the heart of our logistics chain, directly influencing our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will manage incoming goods, meticulously record product details, oversee stock movement, and prepare items for outbound shipments, working with a diverse range of products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming products against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse and storage areas for optimal efficiency, accessibility, and safety.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with inventory management system records.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, reporting findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare products for dispatch, ensuring correct quantities, quality, and appropriate packaging.
  • Generate dispatch documentation, including shipping labels and manifests.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklift) safely and efficiently, if certified.
  • Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and report to management for action.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using the designated WMS/ERP system.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and security regulations within the warehouse environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with procurement, sales, and transport teams to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Stock Controller, Warehouse Operative, or similar role (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving stock.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift license (reach or counterbalance).
  • Experience with a specific WMS relevant to the industry (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to warehouse environments.
